California, Michigan, and Vermont also top the list. Illinois, Texas, and Mississippi rank at the
bottom. This report focuses on how
people physical/mental challenges adapt in each state, if people are happy,
with their services, and how easily accessible their services may become.
This report examines data in 2010. While some states went above and beyond in
the list, there is always room for growth.
268,000+ people with physical/mental challenges are presently on the
list for Medicaid waivers.
However, there is good news.
In 36 states, 80% of people with mental challenges are being evaluated
for community living. This data collected in 2010 is the most
current gathered.
