New Application Gains Recognition

“Access Together” is a Four-Square based phone application and is assisting people with physical/mental challenges gain accessible accommodations in their area.  It is available on Iphone, Android, and Blackberry.   Popularity about this app is quickly rising after receiving notoriety in a national contest.

Access Together claimed the honor of being called runner-up in the “Access for Communities” Challenge.  This contest was sponsored by the Knights Foundation and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  This contest recognized creators that made apps acknowledging people who are not online frequently.

This app also claimed the honor of being called “most replicable” in the contest.  It was chosen out of almost 70 entries.  The creators will obtain $11,0000 in prize funds.

Presently, Access Together is in the early steps of development.  It can be used as a mobile website.  Users of the app will be able to view accessible areas cross country, but as of now most locations to be viewed are in New York City.
